about
Once I was in a carpool for an ongoing gig, and the only one of us that owned a car also had his stunt driver's license and absolutely zero self-control. Every time we made that trip, at some point one or all of us would end up screaming, "WE'RE GONNA DIE!". On one such occasion when we all screeched out our fears of death, immediately afterward someone lovingly said, "Let's Die Together!"
I immediately thought, "wow...let's die together." In what situation would you ever use that combination of words? "Let's Die Together"?? I was amazed by the phrase and promised everyone in the car that I would write a song using it. So I did, and I hope you enjoy the result. :)
lyrics
Let's Die Together:
Two batteries working in a toy
bringing bouts of happiness to a lonely little boy
positive and negative these batteries did share
passing each electron with a knowing, loving stare
Then one said to the other
darling I am going out
He replied, "Wait! Hold on my love!,
I so wanna be with you, I'll throw my excess out.
We'll to heaven with the batteries above."
They sang
"Let's die together and
we'll be together
Let's die together we two.
We'll be together, together forever.
Cuz that's what lovers do."
Romeo and Juliet, they missed it by a hair.
Sometimes some of the timing doesn't seem that fair.
I'm just saying maybe you and I could plan ahead.
Cuz if we're better off together,
better off together might be better off dead
Like John Cusack
oooooh
Two lemmings sitting on the edge.
One with cancer and the other, as a result, depressed.
And as they took that final leap they sang this little rhyme.
Don't look at my like that's weird,
Lemmings do it all the time!
They sang
"Let's die together and
we'll be together
Let's die together we two.
We'll be together, together forever.
Cuz that's what lovers do."
I'm not saying let's commit some dual suicide.
But if you think you're going soon,
I might just hitch a ride
Think about it
Think about it
My grandpa lived a long long life.
Nine kids and no money and an ever-loving wife.
And not so many months ago he cried, "Louise, Louise"
And in not so many moments he had left her with the breeze.
Don't leave me, don't leave me alone dear.
It's not that I'm indifferent to the world.
But if you're with me, I'll go happy.
And once we're gone we won't have death to fear.
And then, we'll live together.
We'll live together.
We'll live together my love!
We'll fly together to angels of a feather,
with all the other angels above.
With all the other Lovers above.
